Open Source Architecture
Post do Collab Studio comenta um artigo j;a antigo do Rheingold (“Urban Infomatics Breakout”, 2004) e pergunta se as mídias locativas continuarão “abertas” ou se sistemas fechados e controlados prevalecerão no futuro. A questão é importante e reflete algumas iniciativas de criação de softwares abertos para celulares, de “liberação” de zonas Wi-Fi e de produção artística que impliquem em um livre uso desses sistemas (mapas, GPS, geotgas…). Alguns exemplos nesse sentido são os projetos OpenMoko ou OpenStreetMaps (ver esse Carnet para outros projetos).

Or will we be passive consumers of pre-packaged content fabricated by a few dozen synthetic superstars.”
