Squared-Time

Time, space, simultaneity, globalization, private space, public space. Passers-by in Times Square, New York, interacting with (supposedly) other people via webcam, via their mobile phones. The ubiquitous communication, the empire of images, remediation by GUI (desktop computer), the complexity of the urban space of contemporary cities. Space displaced in time, double time in cyberspace, time squared, squared-time!

Chatroulette, o filme

Vejam o vídeo abaixo (via Brainstorm 9 e twitter @digital_cultura):

Fuck Google

Fuck Google

Evento Fuck Google, no Transmediale 10 em Berlim.

“Google is the most popular site on the world wide web. Since Larry Page and Sergey Brin opened the Menlo Park doors of their corporate office in 1998, Google has grown to be much more than just the defacto information search utility for the web. Beyond having over 150 domains, dozens of web, browser and desktop apps, a number of the most popular sites on the web (like YouTube), partnerships with multimedia conglomerates and multinational telecoms, one spy satellite and a mysterious network of telecommunication infrastructure, Google has become a new word in the international lexicon. I Googled it. ????. Je l’ai googlelé. Jeg googlede det. ????? Eu Googled isso. Ich hab’s gegoogled. ??? googled ??. Yo googleo.
Google, Ergo Sum.”

Organizado pelo Free Art and Technology Lab:

“an organization dedicated to enriching the public domain through the research and development of creative technologies and media. The entire FAT network of artists, engineers, scientists, lawyers, musicians and Bornas are committed to supporting open values and the public domain through the use of emerging open licenses, support for open entrepreneurship and the admonishment of secrecy, copyright monopolies and patents.”

Abaixo um vídeo muito legal sobre as diversas ações na semana do “fuck google”. Interesse particular na parte que mostra como fazer um falso “Google street view car”!
