Citisense
Sistema em São Francisco permite mapear em tempo real o movimento de pessoas em vários pontos de interesse e o aumento de atividades nos mesmos. Acessível apenas em Blackberry, mas já previsto para iPhone, Citysense, através de GPS e hotspots Wi-Fi, monitora o movimento das pessoas e informa onde as coisas acontecem “na night”. Por enquanto só São Francisco dispõe do sistema. Ele mostra o aumento no movimento em um determinado lugar e cria um ranking entre os lugares mais movimentados.
Mais um sistema usando a potência das mídias locativas para monitorar atividades sociais. Podemos já pensar em usos “policialescos” ou “marketeiros” que irão, certamente, se aproveitar do sistema para vigilância, controle e “target” de consumo através de perfis de uso dos diversos lugares públicos. O texto abaixo já aponta para um uso por “business people”. Para o bem ou para o mal, vemos aqui mais uma vez o uso dessas mídias de localização para reforçar atividades em lugares públicos e para cria agregações sociais (que parece ser o objetivo principal do sistema). A privacy policy é explícita em relação aos dados privados enviados por quem usa o sistema:
“We believe that you should know what information about you we collect, as well as how that information is used, maintained, and, in some cases, shared. The following sets forth our privacy practices and policies (“Privacy Policy”): We will collect information about you when you transmit information via our website or by email or when you otherwise use our website. By doing any of the foregoing, you assent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not engage in any of these activities.”
